SEO Included in All Website Designs

SEO in Website Design
SEO, or Search Engine Optimization is offered by Altitude Data Web Design and it is included at no extra charge in all websites that we design. If you are a businesses or individual and you are looking to increase traffic to an existing web site, or hit the ground running with a new site, we are up to the challenge. Any web site, no matter how cool it looks, is only as good as the traffic it generates and all website designs do much better in rankings if you build in the SEO from the very beginning. If you're buried in the maze of 100,000 plus search results, people are going to have a hard time finding you. Search engine optimization, or SEO addresses this problem by ensuring that your website is returned in the first 30-50 results. If this is done correctly, your position ranking should also improve over time.

Statistics show that approximately 65-85% of the traffic visiting your website arrives via search engines. This makes it critical to understand how search engines work and how they index and rank pages. Altitude Data Web Design has the knowledge and SEO expertise to help in search engine positioning and optimization. Our web developers can put your site at the top of the rankings where people can actually find you. With your guidance, we will select the keywords and key phrases that you need for your specific application, and we take it from there. Within 60-90 days, you will be up and running and generating more traffic each month.

Most Common SEO Abuses

The "Google Webmaster Help" page cautions against the following practices:
One common scam is the creation of "shadow" domains that funnel users to a site by using deceptive redirects. These shadow domains often will be owned by the SEO who claims to be working on your behalf. However, if the relationship sours, the SEO may point the domain to a different site, or even to a competitor's domain. If that happens, you have just paid to develop a competing site owned entirely by the SEO.

Another illicit practice is to place "doorway" pages loaded with keywords on the client's site somewhere. The SEO promises this will make the page more relevant for more queries. This is inherently false since individual pages are rarely relevant for a wide range of keywords. More insidious, however, is that these doorway pages often contain hidden links to the SEO's other clients as well. Such doorway pages drain away the link popularity of a site and route it to the SEO and its other clients, which may include sites with unsavory or illegal content.

There are a few warning signs that you may be dealing with a rogue SEO. It's far from a comprehensive list, so if you have any doubts, you should trust your instincts. By all means, feel free to walk away if the SEO provider:

  • Owns shadow domains
  • Offers to sell keywords in address bar
  • Guarantees ranking, but only on
    obscure keywords and or phrases
  • Uses falsified WHOIS info
  • Links to other clients on doorways
  • Gets traffic from "fake" search engines, spyware, or scumware
